Sandakan Memorial Day |

Description : Between January to June 1945, approximately 2400 allied prisoners were sent on three separate torturous 160-mile marches from Sandakan to Ranau, known today as the infamous Death March. Only 6 men survived. Australian relatives and friends of those who died and suffered the terrible atrocities are among those who attend the Sandakan Memorial Day. The memorial service will be held at the Sandakan Memorial Park which was once the site of the Prisoners of War Camp.

Description : The feisty Yu Ya was a tender 16-year-old singing in a hotel when she was discovered by Taiwan's famous music composer and teacher, Liu Jia Chang. Captivated by her melodious voice, he started to train and nurture her impressive vocal skills. With the song "Wang Shi Zhi Neng Hui Hui", which was composed especially for her, Yu was catapulted to fame and stardom. Fans can thus expect this debut song of hers (which has since become one of her most identifiable signature songs) along with her other hits such as "Xin You Qian Qian Jie", "Cai Yun Fei" and others, to be on the cards.

history and some are newer events organized by the government to
stimulate tourism. As such, bear in mind, some are hits and some
are misses.... Of course many events are geared towards the local
population and as such the language used will be Bahasa Melayu but
don't let that hold you back - GO! (especially to any dance or puppet
show) you'll be surprised how warmly you are welcomed
World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship (WAITGC) WAITGC was organized
with the objective of promoting holiday destinations that offer
golfing facilities to both the international and local markets.
The championship is open to teams of amateur golfers.
Colors of Malaysia
Presenting Malaysia's rich culture and tradition through a showcase
of cultural activities, handicrafts exhibition, sumptuous cuisine
and resplendent costumes. The Colors of Malaysia is also displayed

Merdeka Day Parade
Malaysia celebrates 46 years of independence or 'Merdeka' on the
morning of 31st August with a colorful - grand parade at Putrajaya
Boulevard in Putrajaya with the theme of 'Keranamu Malaysia'. Festivities
start the night before with an open-air concert at the same venue
during the 'Merdeka Eve Celebrations' with popular Malaysia singers
& celebrities. Graced by His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong
(the King), the Merdeka Day Parade is also attended by government
leaders & members of the diplomatic corps. |
